Esperanza School’s provides academic and therapeutic services to children ages 5-21 years old.
We provide educational services to children with:
- Intellectual disabilities
- Developmental disabilities
- Emotional disabilities
- Other health impairments
- Autism
- Traumatic brain injury
Esperanza school prides itself on successfully working with students whose challenging and aggressive behaviors have impacted their ability to learn in the public school setting. We support our students through our team of special education teachers, behavior technicians, social workers, speech pathologists, occupational therapists, paraprofessionals, and our nurse.
Our team is dedicated to carrying out our founder’s mission: to provide instruction and services to people with developmental disabilities to reach their fullest potential toward a productive and independent life in the community.
Our History
Our founder, Guadalupe Reyes, couldn’t find appropriate services for her son with disabilities in 1969. She wanted to create a place where families like hers could go and find academic and developmental services that weren’t available to her son anywhere else. Her vision and dream continues to guide our school to ensure our students are reaching their academic, developmental, and social goals.

I am grateful for what the Esperanza team does on a daily basis. They put the needs of the staff and students at the top of the list. They make great strides to include everyone in our community of diverse learners.
